Patches & Uniforms
Following are some rules and information regarding the placement of Brownie Try-its, Junior badges, and Cadette and Senior Interest Project patches - all of which always go on the front of a girl's sash or vest. Participation, or "fun" patches, go on the back and should be started at the top and then placed in rows from left to right.

The Daisy Girl Scout Promise Center and Learning Petals The center is earned by learning the Girl Scout promise. The petals are earned, in any order, by learning the ten parts of the Girl Scout law.

|
The Promise Center, which is earned first, is placed in the center of the front of the Daisy Girl Scout tunic. The Learning Petals, which represent different parts of the Girl Scout law and may be earned in any order, are placed - as they are earned and in any order - around the Promise Center. For a list of which part of the Girl Scout law each petal color represents, please click on Daisy Girl Scout Promise Center and Learning Petals. |
Brownie Girl Scout Try-its Each Try-it is earned by completing four activites in an area of interest. There are more than fifty Brownie Girl Scout Try-its.

Sample Try-it
|
Wear Brownie Girl Scout Try-its on the vest below the membership stars, placed horizontally - as they are received - in rows of four or five. Arrange the Try-its on the left and right sides of the vest to achieve a balanced appearance. Try-its may also be continued around the bottom of the vest to the back. On a sash, they should be placed horizontally - as they are received - in groups of three. For a list of Try-its, please click on Brownie Girl Scout Try-its. |
Junior Girl Scout Badges Each badge signifies specific achievements in an area of interest and is earned by completing six of the activities listed for each badge. There are more than one-hundred Junior Girl Scout Badges.
|
 Sample Badge
|
Wear the first badge on the right side of the vest, just above the bottom edge. Place additional badges in horizontal rows, keeping the rows on the right and left balanced. If you run out of room, put badges on the back of the vest in rows starting at the bottom. On the sash, place badges three in a row, to achieve the appearance of a straight line as the sash curves on the body. If you run out of room, put badges on the back of the sash in rows starting at the bottom. Junior Girl Scout badges may also be worn on the back of the Cadette and Senior Girl Scout vest and sash. For a list of badges, please click on Junior Girl Scout Badges. |
Cadette and Senior Girl Scout Interest Project Patches Each Interest Project patch represents achievements in an area of interest and is earned by completing the required number of activities in four categories: two skill builders, one technology, one community service, one career exploration, and two additional activities in any of the four categories. There are more than eighty Cadette and Senior Interest Project patches.
